Hey I'm Peter Pfitzner, a music buff & record collector from way back and I've been on air since November 2009.
I play Garage, Psychedelic and Progressive Music from the 60's, 70's and 80's right up to the latest releases of today.This genre of music is precisely what I collect. I have been collecting for 40 years, and over recent years I have concentrated on rare records. Each week I select records from my collection to make up the show. Much of this music comes from rare releases, so listeners have the opportunity to hear some really rare and obscure stuff, quite exclusive really as the chances of hearing some of these tracks anywhere else on the airwaves is about nil. Not just the rare as I play songs from the eras that fall into my genre that many listeners would be familar with (just forgotten) as some listeners have told me. I run at least two specials a month, which can be on a feature artist or part genre ie Garage, Psychedelic or Progressive.
Coming up in the future I am doing a show on The L.A. music scene from 1966 to 1970 as well as British progressive music 1969 to 1973 to name a couple. Every week has a short segment, currently it is 'songs of the macabre'.
